Danny Johannessen with The Scar Fish at 44lb 5oz from the end of last week! w/c 16th September
He said: “I turned up on the Wednesday and struggled to get my baits in the water with the strong wind. On the Thursday morning the wind died down and after about four hours of looking for a clear spot I found one at about 80 to 90 yards. The bait was only in the water a couple of hours when I saw a big fish role in my swim. Five minutes later I had the take. This is my second PB from the lake in the last two weeks.”
WILLOWS SECOND 40LB-PLUS COMMON!
Weighing in at 42lb-plus, this is the first time this fish has seen the bank since it was 38lb a while ago. We had high hopes that it would have gone over 40lb but we didn’t realise quite how awesome it would look at that weight. This is a great sign for lots of other fish which also have the potential to have gone over 40lb. The next few weeks should be very interesting
THE TIN OPENER AT AN ALL TIME HIGH WEIGHT
Paul Finnin had a blinding weekend at Willows with an absolute rake of fish including several twenties, thirties and the incredible Tin Opener at an all-time high of 42lb 1oz. Well done Paul! More pics from his haul coming soon
His final session as a free man (he got married a few days later…) saw Colin Scott catch two new personal bests in the space of just 90 minutes! Colin started things off with a cracking 32lb mirror which was shortly followed by an equally impressive 32lb 8oz mirror. It was only his second visit to the lake and he wanted to thank Gaz for taking his pictures.
