He said: “I turned up on the Wednesday and struggled to get my baits in the water with the strong wind. On the Thursday morning the wind died down and after about four hours of looking for a clear spot I found one at about 80 to 90 yards. The bait was only in the water a couple of hours when I saw a big fish role in my swim. Five minutes later I had the take. This is my second PB from the lake in the last two weeks.”

The big common has recently been banked by first time visitor Sam. Here is the report in his own words.

“well…..Here she is, all 42lb 8oz of her! Taken on a single S-CORE pop up presented on a naked chod rig cast at showing fish at around923274_10201172626266491_1188809116_n 80yds range. This fish was on my hit list so to say i feel privileged to have taken her on my first session is a bit of an understatement! I also managed a little common & lost a lump too! thanks to Simon for the pics the coffee & the tanning oil! you’re a star mate! There’s still 2 or 3 fish that need to be ticked off the hit-list so no doubt you will see me down there in near future.”

Consistent Willows angler Jonny Worrilow has been on a roll lately and the icing on the cake came when this 43lb-plus whacker rolled jonny40into his net a couple of nights ago. This fish tops a string of good fish Jonny has caught recently including several upper thirties.

samErics employee ‘Little’ Sam Harrison had a hectic overnighter at our Willows Lake on Sunday when he notched up an 11-fish haul topped by this personal best 31lb 2oz mirror. Sam fished to a prebaited area where he introduced a further five kilos of boilies during his session. The fish are loving the bait at the moment!

Damian Lyles headed down for his first session and was rewarded with a three-fish catch topped by this personal best 37lb 8oz mirror. Well done Damian!

He said: “I found some fish at the bck of the island in peg 9 and lost a lump within minutes of casting out and then an even better lump half hour later. I was gutted! The fish did the off so i piled a fair bit of bait in and waited for them to return, which they did. Within an hour I had 3 out including an 18lb stunner, a 37lb 8oz Mirror (PB) and a 12lb Common. Here’s a 33lb 11oz mirror caught recently by Kevin Rogerson. This was part of a four-fish catch which included threekev thirties!

paulPaul Mahoney spent his first session at the lake and went on to bag a six-fish catch during his three-day visit. Paul landed three doubles, two twenties to 28lb 4oz and this personal best 39lb 8oz mirror!!

Les Marsh has just finished a 44-hour session, and what a session he had! Les, who currently holds the lake record at 52lb-plus, notched up an eight-fish catch on this lesoccasion topped by this solid looking 39lb mirror which looks set to be yet another Willows 40 in the next few weeks!

johnHis first session at Erics Willows Lake saw John Bullas have the kind of session most of us can only dream about when he smashed his PB twice with two different forties!! Here’s the first part of his impressive brace.

It was another awesome weekend on Willows with personal bests getting smashed everywhere. There have been at least another three 40s out and we’ve lost count of how many thirties were caught! We need to keep our fish records up to date and would really appreciate your help.

Jonny Worrilow has been getting amongst the biggies recently with his last couple of visits producing a stack of good fish to 43lb-plus! We’re still waiting on the pics of the 43-pounder, but in the meantime here’s a photo of a chunky 36lb mirror he bagged on another recent visit!

Here’s a photo of a 41lb 4oz mirror caught by David Robinson during his first ever session on our Willows Lake. During his session David also davecaught six good twenties, four thirties and one of the biggies at a personal best 49lb-plus!!

jackThe first weekend as a day-ticket fishery (formerly an exclusive syndicate) saw our Willows Lake produce some awesome fish. Some of you have probably heard about David Robinson who tempted a rake of fish including two different forties to 49lb-plus and several thirties! We should have a full catch report and photos from him later, but in the meantime have a look at Jack Funnell with a cracking mirror weighing 34lb 4oz. He also caught a 29lb mirror in the same session.
